At Uplands Primary School & Nursery, we are committed to ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.
The Pupil Premium is additional government funding provided to schools to improve educational outcomes for eligible pupils. We use this funding carefully and strategically to help remove barriers to learning, support pupils’ wellbeing and ensure that eligible children make strong academic and personal progress.
Our approach may include:
- High-quality teaching and targeted academic support.
- Additional help with literacy, numeracy and wider learning needs.
- Pastoral, attendance and wellbeing support.
- Access to enrichment activities, educational visits and wider opportunities.
- Support with resources or other identified barriers to participation.
We carefully monitor the impact of our Pupil Premium provision and use evidence, assessment information and the individual needs of our pupils to inform our decisions.
Our aim is not only to close gaps in attainment, but to ensure that disadvantaged pupils are fully included in school life and have the confidence, skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
We are committed to working closely with pupils, families and staff to identify barriers early and provide appropriate support. Through this approach, we aim to ensure that every pupil can succeed, flourish and make excellent progress.
