Welcome to our Year 3 class page!
Miss Cains is our class teacher and brings a love of geography, challenging maths, and sharing fun facts into the classroom. We are also lucky to be supported by Mrs Greenfield, our wonderful teaching assistant (TA), who enjoys reading and has a particular fondness for football! Our team also includes our lovely TA Mrs Elbourne, who has a passion for history and all things Disney, and our wonderful TA Mrs Carr, who loves art and is excited to become a nanny in June!
In Year 3, our curriculum is designed to be engaging, creative, and tailored to support every child’s development. In English, we explore a wide range of literary texts, supported by our school’s bespoke curriculum. Children develop their comprehension and reading skills through regular guided reading sessions, helping them grow in confidence and understanding.
In Maths, we follow the White Rose curriculum, which is carefully adapted to meet the needs of the class and aligned with our wider school approach. Science is also taught using White Rose, ensuring a consistent and structured learning journey.
For our foundation subjects, we use Kapow to provide exciting and well-rounded lessons. In History, pupils explore fascinating topics such as the Stone Age, Romans, and Greeks. In Design and Technology, children enjoy hands-on projects like building castles and making cushions. Our Religion and Worldviews some of the lessons we cover encourage pupils to think deeply about morals and the importance of water in different cultures and beliefs. In Art, children express their creativity through sculptures, sketches, and much more.
We look forward to sharing our learning journey with you!
