Behaviour Expectations
At our school, we believe that positive behaviour is essential for creating a safe, respectful and inclusive environment where every pupil can learn, grow and achieve their best.
We expect all members of our school community to treat one another with kindness, courtesy and respect. Pupils are encouraged to take responsibility for their choices, listen to others, follow school routines and demonstrate a positive attitude towards learning.
Our behaviour expectations are built around our values of being:

We recognise and celebrate positive behaviour, while responding fairly and consistently when expectations are not met and more detail on how we manage this is in our behaviour policy below.
We work in partnership with parents and carers to support pupils in developing the skills, confidence and self-discipline they need to succeed both in school and beyond.
Together, we can ensure that our school is a place where everyone feels respected, supported and able to thrive.
Celebrating Positive Behaviour
We have a number of ways in which we celebrate and recognise positive behaviours across the school, including;
- House System for pupils to earn house points individually and collectively
- Stickers and Badges for House Points collected, with graduated expectations as children progress through the school
- Weekly Values award – this is a certificate given out to a member of each class in our weekly celebration assembly
- Pride of Uplands Award – This is voted for by the children and recognises the class member who they feel consistently demonstrates all of the Uplands Values. This is a termly award which is recognised in a special ‘Pride of Uplands’ assembly where parents are invited and the children attend a ‘Parsons Party’ with Mrs Parsons to celebrate their nomination.
